Russian Imperial Stout
(Stout,
9.5%)
-
At close to $15.00/6 pack, probably the most expensive beer ever commercially sold in B.C., but lovers of strong, robust beers were richer for the experience. Deep black, with a big malty nose and an rich, aggressive flavour that makes a regular stout seem like a pale ale, this beer somehow manages to maintain a fine balance between dark malts, bitter hops, and alcohol flavours. A brilliant swan song for the brewery, just before the ship went down.
