A brewery that opened in September, 1997, serving its local Vancouver market with draft beer only. In late 2000, R&B commenced limited distribution of bottled beers. The brewery was started by Rick Dellow and Barry Benson, a couple of guys who have been around the professional brewing scene for a while and ought to have a pretty good idea of what it takes to put together a first-class operation that produces outstanding ales.

Dark Star Oatmeal Stout
(Stout, 4.6%)
- Thick black with a creamy greyish head, this beer looks formidable but is highly drinkable. Toasty malt aroma, rich smoky flavour, and a sharp roasty delicious finish, all in a nice balance. The slightly lower alcohol content is a bonus...because it means you can have more without feeling guilty!

East Side Bitter
(India Pale Ale, 5.5%)
- Inviting deep copper color, flowery hop nose with some peach notes. Really nice hop-accented malt flavour. Clean finish with a strong but pleasant bitterness. Good all-rounder.

Raven Cream Ale
(Brown Ale, 4%)
- Described as "a traditional English mild." Brown in colour with a smooth malty flavour. Not exceptional, but a well-rounded brown ale. Available in 650ml bottles.
