Crannog Ales - Add Comments/Rate this Brewery

Sorrento

Opened right around the turn of the 21st century by brewer Brian MacIsssac and his partner is Rebecca Kneen, this brewery is reportedly B.C.s first certified organic ale producer. Situated in the little interior town of Sorrento, not far from Kamloops. Apparently put together with equipment from the failed Horseshoe Bay brewery. Distribution in kegs only, mostly locally, but also at select establishments in Vancouver. Has won an award for its organic ales.

Beyond the Pale Ale (Pale Ale, 5%) Red Branch Irish Ale (Brown Ale, % unknown) Back Hand of God Stout (Stout, 5.2%) Bogtrotter Brown Ale (Brown Ale, % unknown)

I had the good fortune to visit Crannog for several days since my daughter was working there. We had an incredible farm dinner every night with the fabulous Ales served by Brian and Rebecca. I am a brewer myself and this is truly a hidden gem. I live in Bend Or. a beer mecca and nobody has ever hear of Crannog.

I just had three of your beers at the riverstone Pub in PG. I loved you amber ale and your hand of God stout! the IPa wasn't my favorite but the other two were excelent. I will be going more oftento the riverstone for my ale fix! Tim

Hard to find but worth seeking out. All of their beers are excellent and you always know you're getting good quality, locally brewed product.

Went for a tour of the Brewery & the farm in August 2005. Very interesting setup. The tasting room was definitely the best part. Got to try some Cherry Ale (an absolute delight), Stoudt and a Pale Ale. Brian was very welcoming and enjoyed speaking about the operation. Did end up buying a Keg of Pale Ale. Best Beer I have ever had!
