British Columbia Beer Guide - Breweries in B.C. and Their Beers

Phillips Brewing Co. 5 stars - superb! - Add Beer Comments

Victoria
India Pale Ale (India Pale Ale,  6.5%) 5 stars - superb! - Matt Phillips dares to go where no B.C. micro-brewery has gone before: a sturdy, well-hopped, unfiltered IPA! A most welcome addition to the B.C. beer scene, this is an outstanding choice for those who like to taste the brewer's art in its full, hoppy glory. Available in 650ml bottles.   8/6/2002

this was the best beer Phillips ever made; I grieve its termination; the new Hop Circle is no replacement; if I wanted fruity I'd but wine

Phillips Original IPA ~ delicious, inspiring and memorable.. every transporting sip excites a sense of taste~tradition, where one is transported onto a tropical verandah or a Norfolk pub. The best brew on this side of the pond! Anna Hawthorne

One the beers I purchase most often -- so good that even at 6.5% alcohol, it has become a session beer for me.

As a world travelling photojournalist I Have had the opportunity to test beer from around the world and to this date this India Pale Ale tops them all. Please keep up the good work and don't change the formula. Gar Lunney

As another client said "Please do Notttt change a single thing" This is the best I have found in 30 years. what a taste. No after effects. Only one problem Hard to find. Just not available, and a person would think Government stores would stock all items available. Maybe not independant places but once I have introduced Phillips Pale Ale sales increase. Ecryone wants it and likes it. Please try and keep the cost down as this lsst 55 cent price increase hurts low income or fixed income buyers. I will look for the 650 ml bottle sixe thank you malibu

this beer is capable of challenging Tree's Hophead as the first beer I give to visitors. I like the extra bit of malt to balance the hop astringency

This is absolutley the IPA to drink around here! Very robust flavor. I'm not usually too fond of Pale Ales, but I'm buying this again. *****5 Stars

I tasted a bottle of your ipa at a friends house several months back and loved it but he can't remember where he got it. I have looked in quite a few beer and wines and have had no luck, perhaps you could tell me who markets your brew anywhere between ladysmith and Qualicum. Thank you.

I love Canada but I've always feared the beers until now. Now I have one more reason to go back. Thanks for making an outstanding product across the board. Far and away the best IPA north of the border.
